When we’re kids in school, we can’t wait to be finished. As we grow older, we realize how little we actually know and come to value learning. I strive to learn every day, whether it’s how to make a video go viral or how to explain to people that New Jersey is more than Springsteen and The Sopranos. My favorite learning experiences, though, are the ones that will benefit my patients. When my knowledge allows me to thoroughly explain a procedure, provide treatment with minimal discomfort, and send my patients off with a smile, I am reminded of just how important it is to keep learning. Earlier this year, I attended an Invisalign training. While I’ve been using Invisalign to treat my patients for years, I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to learn more. The full-day training taught me so much about how Invisalign can help improve patient health – not just their smiles. As if the knowledge I gained wasn’t uplifting enough, the kind folks at Invisalign asked if they could feature my experience on their site.
